Créditos:
Maria Fonseca é bailarina e criadora portuguesa. Estudou Fine Arts na University of the Arts London e graduou no London Studio Centre com BA (Hons) em Theatre Dance onde desenvolveu uma tese “Spirituality & Dance”.
Desde o LSC, trabalhou com variados artistas a nível internacional, entre eles Russell Maliphant para o documentário Nureyev (2018), Pascal Merighi & Sebastien Ramirez (Saddler’s Wells), John Ross-Matthew Bourne Choreographer Awards, Protein Dance, Jean Abreu Dance, Jack Murphy, Ivan Blackstock (Adidas), BBC2- Lucie Pankhurst, Cascade Dance Theatre & Yasper Van Luijk (Wales), Ekin Bernay, Block Universe, Ollie Palmer (V&A Museum), Company Idem (Suíça), Jann Gallois -Cie Burnout (France), Miguel Moreira- Útero e Olga Roriz. O seu movimento é influenciado por variadas expressões contemporâneas incluindo o Flying Low, Fighting Monkey e artes marciais em particular a capoeira. O seu trabalho autoral inclui “Muladhara”- para Design for Dance, colaboração com a Central Saint Martins London (2010). “Red Tears”, dueto com life performer Ekin Bernay (2014), “IDADE, the beauty of ageing” (2016) apresentadas no The Place; DEN.TRO um trabalho trabalho a solo convidado a ir ao Festival Internacional de Danca de Kalamata (Grécia), SAHASRARA com a harpista Angelica Salvi estreada no Festival Dance Dance Dance e apresentada no GuiDance 2022. A sua criação mais recente é THY BRAIN estreada em Março de 2023 no Cine-Teatro Louletano. A Maria está de momento a ensaiar para as Mil e Uma Noites, uma co-criação entre a Companhia Olga Roriz e o Teatro O Bando.
